Welcome to the Instrument Garden!

The Instrument Garden Studio

There’s a whole world to explore!

A packed school gym: hundreds of kids sitting on the floor, hands up, facing a BF performer and a producer at a studio table with leaves and toadstool speakers

It started with a van

In 2017, a van became a studio at festival campgrounds. Strangers made music together, and one dubstep track started as a sampled piece of metal.

20,233 kids later...

Boredomfighters have brought the studio to 181 schools around the US, major festivals like EDC Las Vegas, 8 years of youth summer camps, and have hired music makers 1,643 times in the process to spread the joy of inclusive music empowerment.

Welcome to the Instrument Garden

The Instrument Garden is our inclusive, judgment-free mobile studio, often a dome full of plants and instruments. Musicians guide you as you become one yourself. Everyone’s invited, no sound is a bad sound, and layer by layer it becomes a song.

Everyone has a sound to share

Lil Beat, Drumstick, and the crew of Metrognomez hold down the production while everyone is invited to add their own flavor. Even Drumstick’s name came from a young creator.

The studio is everywhere

School hallways, libraries, youth centers, festival fields. The studio goes where young people already are, and we team up with teachers to keep it going.
